A little explanation is due on this post to prevent all the flaming that is sure to insue. I bought me a beatup little 93 es talon, no major mods no nothing hadn't been running for 2 years the lady I bought it from told me so I gave her her 300$ thinking it would be a fun project. After getting it home and ripping it appart the problem seemed apparent the timing belt had blown, it cracked the head and bent all of the valves so I bought a new complete head off of a awd turbo laser. After putting it together I found that I was also missing a maf but it still runs so I have been driving it while searching for a n/t head and maf I have the maf off of a 94 tsi is there any way to rig that up to make it work? Also did I pull a dumb by dropping my compression with a turbo head. And if not is there anyway to bring the compression back up w/o buying a new head. Keep in mind that I live in wyoming and there is 1 junkyard in the whole state that has a dsm in it and it is pretty much stripped. So any thoughts?

:ohdamn:
The turbo head with the N/T head are intechangeable.. but the 6bolts and a 7 bolts head are different i think..

but the turbo MAF will doesn't work on a NA DSM. connector and the sensors are different..

True the nt has 6 prongs and the turbo has 7 wanted to know if a fella could hypotheticly cut wires and reconect them in a fasion that would work they look identical except for the plug

The car may run but it will not run good. The turbo MAS and NT MAS are designed for different air flow (volume) and send different signals to the ecu. Each ecu has different air flow and fuel maps constructed for the performance of the engine.

Okay so next ? Where can I get a n/t maf that I don't have to drop 300$ on at autozone. the dsm graveyard doesn't have one and I refuse to trust ebay parts because I love this car more than I could possibly love a human child. But I also have verry little money at the moment
