Putting a 1g turbo head on a 1g N/T?

Will the head from my 1g turbo A/T work on my 1g 2.0 N/T?

Yes, but you will need to plug the turbo oil feed line outlet on the head. When the motor is in the car it is near the passenger side front corner of the head.

If you have the head from your 1G NT remove the plug, and copper washer, install them on the turbo head. A new copper washer is usually best.

Yes, after plugging the feed line port like Big Woo said, there's only one other difference. The intake cam is a little different from the turbo to N/T models. But that's no problem; you can run the turbo cam in you N/T. That head should work just fine for you.

Thanks guys. The reason I ask is that I'm tearing down my old '91 tsi and saving some parts in case I need them for my '92 N/T. I was thinking if the t-belt ever broke on my good car then I'd have another head to throw on there. I know the valves get bent if the t-belt beraks but what else is damaged? I mean, what accounts for the high cost of having a shop repair a damaged head? If the head off my old car looks to be in good shape would it be wiser to sell it for the cash, save it as a back up, or just remove some parts for saving and put the rest up for sale?
