1G transmission turbo vs nonturbo

Anyone have pictures or can describe in detail how to tell the difference between a 1G turbo & a 1G n/t transmission?

Easiest way will be the mounting point for the transmission mount. On a nt transmission the mounting holes on the tranny will be level on a turbo they'll be offset. the one closest to the engine will be higher than the other.

Of course the overall size of the bellhousing will be greater on the turbo fwd tranny as compared to the fwd nt tranny.

Ok, well I have 2 91 trannys here and and if im understanding you correctly, the mounting holes on both of them are offset. but the differnce in the one that I suspect is a non-turbo is the arms that the cables go to. The arms on the one that I suspect is non-turbo are skinnier and maybe shorter.

If im not mistaken, I believe the first one is a turbo tranny

Just check the codes on the tranny so much easier do a simple google search and you will find out. Turbo trannies somewhere in the code will have a 33 while the n/t will have have 22.

F5M33 or F5M22 bigger number being the turbo.

Those are both turbo tranny's as far as I can tell, although one's a 1990, and other looks like a 1991-94.

alright, nevermind.... I was looking at the shifter cable mounting brackets wrong. All I did in this tread was point out differences between a 90 tranny and an 91+. Thats for all your help anyways.
