1g talon high to low idel / vac when put in gear

not my car in my profile, its my brothers car
1991 awd auto , turbo - with manual ecu and 450cc injectors ..We did try swaping in the auto ecu still had the same problem

Problem is when started (warm or cold start) idels around 1500 vac is about 9-10..when i put it in gear ( drive , reverse) rpm drops to about 1000 and vac drops to 4-5 ...The rpms dont surge etc just drop and drop vac

Yes it is aftermarket vac/boost gauge

Gonna need to do a boost leak test which will also show any vacuum leaks. If you don't have a tester, then let the car run and spray some water/carb cleaner/brake cleaner around all gasket areas and hoses and see if ANYTHING changes as far as the car running. If it idles up or down, you are close to the problem and can take a closer look at that area for bad clamps, leaky hoses or bad gaskets. It sure sounds like a vacuum leak so look at all the vacuum lines. This is just a preliminary test. Hope you find something then we can go from there. Good luck. Anyone else have an idea???

Most cars can run with a vacuum leak but it is noticible, but when you put the engine under load and it is lean, this condition usually occurs. High Idle, low vacuum...especially under load. I think you will find a leak or 2 or a dozen. Those critters are everywhere. Keep posting your results.

just did a blt , couldnt find any , but did notice the egr has no lines going to it , can that be the problem here

And where do i find the 2 hoses to hook up to the egr ??

make sure tps is adjusted and idle switch is adjusted, then adjust timing and idle speed. I have owned a few autos and they will drop rpm's a little when you put them in gear so i usually set them around 1000 in neutral.

it isnt the egr fixed that
i have dsmlink so i tossed that in adjusted the tps , timing is spot on

Now when i start it , it gradually drops rpms and dies out (with in a 1 min) ..And still drops vac when put in gear down to about 4-5 i tested for boost leaks none at tb, injectors , ic etc
I must be missing something for the vac to drop so low when put in gear

mechanical and ignition timing are good? and has the fpr been swapped also?

Found the problem dis morning ..kept going over the logs noticed the air flow was low , swaped in a new maf and air filter , fixed the problem ...Thanks
