2g dies out when put in gear!

Hi, I just swaped my 2g engine with a jdm one and when I fired it up the engine is great but as soon as I put it into gear the car jerks and dies out it does it in every gear but park and neutral When I had it on jack stands it went into gear just fine and spun the tires in the air. So the car only dies when the tranny is in gear and stopped. Can anyone help Thanks!

What does it do when it dies? Just simply die, or does it buck?

its a 1999 at idle its a steady 750 perfect idle and when it dies its kidna harsh it jerks forward because it goes in gear but it wont idle slowly along it drops the rpms and stalls it out and their is a noise comming from the torque converter when I had it on jack stands and had someone push the breaks.
