1G 1G Squealing noise from engine bay

Got this 1g from a from a friend that drove it for a few days after it sitting for about 10 years. Did all normal maintenance, but when i started it back up for the first time in about 9 months it has this outrageous squeal from the trans side of the motor. Could this be a throw out bearing failure? Also how does my idle sound?

Not sure of your knowledge of DSMs, but are you sure its coming from the trans side? DSMs are notorious for obnoxious squealing alternator belts on start up. Mine starts squealing just about every time the season changes to colder weather and needs to be readjusted.

Good point I am a newb however the noise goes away as soon as I give a little pressure to the clutch

Yep looks like you answered your own question there! You’ll find a lot of recommendations in this forum that say to only use the OEM throw out bearing. Let us know how the replacement goes.

Yes only go OEM factory or you wil be sorry. Others don't last.
