I went to my local junk yard and found a 1g GSX with the rear end still untouched and was wondering if it would work on a 2g. If no i can go pull the parts if anyone needs it.

If the 1G are 92+ and the rear end is 4 Bolt beter if are LSD with radius (3.545) for manual Tranny i my opinion.

Im looking any rear end for my 92 talon and many ones told me that any 92+ including 2G's 4Bolts Lsd's (3.545) will fix on me then must be to for you to..

I read some post that can be done, FWD to AWD,

keep in mind first all the rear suspension change, and the chasis im not sure in 2G but i think yes is diferent, the fuel tank and the place for the tire too. Finding all the parts is only the begginig friend.

im gonna go this weeked and pull the parts and see what else i need and to see how much work im gonna get my self into. If i dont use the parts i'll just give it to someone who needs it. And thanks for the info

you can convert a 2g from FWD to AWD. Just not a 1g. I know that on Spyder 2g's its very exspensive. My friend had one. There is also alot of wiring that needs to be fixed.

what he said, its expensive OR time-consuming if you do it yourself. Mine is still coming together, though I bought a 2g tsi awd wrecked car to swap the parts. Its pretty straight-forward though, the little things coming together are the toughest and now its cold out so I don't want to work on it :) .

The only wiring involed is the fuel pump/sending unit. If you buy a complete AWD parts car its just some labor involved. Getting back to the original posters question, no you cannot use the 1g rear end on a 2g completely different. Just go and find an AWD parts car so you get everything you need and set aside a weekend(or a couple depending on your mechanical skills) this would be the best way to go about it. Of course you'll have people tell you to just sell the FWD and buy an AWD, I guess it all depends on how much work you have into the car. For as much work I already have into my car I would rather just do the swap instead of trying to return my car to stock, selling it and finding a GSX in as good of condition of my car. If you only have a few bolt ons and don't have much mechanical ability just sell and buy a GSX. As far as swaping a 1g from FWD to AWD it is way more complicated and definitly not worth it. The 2g swap has been done many times now and I think thwe write up I just posted(I did not write it, can't take credit for that) does a pretty good description of everything needed.
