i have a 90 gsx and its completley stock except for the custom 3" turbo back exhaust. i pulled the engine and trans off last week to clean the bay and send the car out to get painted and to get the engine and the trans rebuilted, this car is going to be moustly a weekend car and some autocross and drag abuse. i am looking for 300hp for the start. the engine is going to be rebuilted completely stock, except for 272 cam set and cam gears, Do i need to upgrade anything else mechanical wise for this up grade? i am keeping the stock injectors but getting 255 fuel pump and pressure regulator, dsm race front mount intercoler kit, GM" mas with translator, scanmaster data loger i have an inovative wideband, autometer boost gauge Hallman ES Manual Boost Controller, trans is going to get upgrated clutch kit thinking of ACT 2600, is there anything that i am missing? more fuel?

you might look into installing a set of high strenght valve springs and titanium retainers since you will most likely be running high rpm's quite often at the track. you could run into problems with valve float if you stay in the high rpm range with stock valvetrain components. why do you want to run the stock injectors?? i agree with the walbro 255 and afpr, but i think if you're gonna do that, might as well get a set of 550cc injectors to throw in the mix. you will like the act 2600 i believe. i've been running one in my gst for about 1 1/2 years and i really like it. it holds really well with a street organic friction disc on it. you might also consider a lighter flywheel at the same time as the clutch upgrade. the act streetlite flywheel is an excellent choice (also what i have). you'll still get great low speed drivability and quicker rev speed. as for more fuel, you will definitely need something to tune everything with. you could tune somewhat with the MAFT, but you could get a lot more flexibility with a SAFC.

what about your turbo?? are you gonna stick with the 14B?? that would do good for autocross action, but a little lacking for dragging. you might consider a 16G of one sort. everything else you have planned out looks really good. you should have a really nice and quick car when you get the build finished.:thumb:
 
thanks man i am going with 550 injector and 16g turbo. i am going to clean up the engine bay since the engine is off, i am going to be runnig with out A/c so besides that what else can i take off. has anyone done a write up on an engine bay clean up and unecesary parts and wiring removal?
 
I think a set of 272 cams is maybe too much aggressive for a stock engine, i would go with a set of 264.
