Picked this '91 Talon TSi couple months ago. Rings were shot, dirty as hell from sitting out side. Managed to get the motor and tranny out. Busted a caliper mount off of the spindle while trying to press the axle out. Rear brakes are rusted stuck. Oh and almost all the studs are shot for the wheels.
So far Ive replaced the knuckle, tore down the motor and sent it to the machine shop, and bought and waiting for some rear calipers.
I wasnt really feeling the tan interior so I found some good deals and have proceeded to convert it to black/grey. Ive got everythign for that besides carpet, front seats and visors. I also managed to snag a rear hatch cover. :thumb:
Ive decided that since its torn down that I might as well work on some paint. Better now when I cant drive than when thats all I can drive right? Im working on stripping the engine bay and front end panels so that the engine bay can be painted black.
As for exterior color Im undecided. I cant pic between Graphite Silver, Black, White, or a dark metallic red.

And though many have talked about it but most never go through with it, Im planning on changing the popups to stationary using the stock turnsignal piece. I plan on making it look as stock as possible, and welding the popup covers to the hood.

The best thing is how clean the shell actually is. If there is rust its small specks of surface, and the body isnt too bad except for dome dings and dents and the keying that somone so graciously added.
Well on to pics, and I love pics. :D

That's one heck of a project. It's coming along real nice. I love seeing people's projects. More updates in my blog soon on mine.

Well its been a hectic week for me. If I wasnt working at my job I was working on this thig. Lets just say the girlfriend wasn't too happy. But everything got figured out, with a few bumps along the way of course. I cant really say its completly done ### well hey, these cars never are. I need to get my exhaust figured out, its extremly loud (stock downpipe, 2 1/4" pipe where cat was, then 3" piping to a muffler, which really doesnt muffle anything haha) and hits up against the bottom of the car, I think a wheels bearing needs to be replaced, the shocks are pretty much gone, I need my old wheels from my buddy so I actually have some tread. It likes to grind into 2nd, I think its cable adjustment outta wack, and into first on downshifting unless I put it in reverse then into 1st. I have a feeling my turbo may need a rebuild, or just get a new one. Still need to run my vacuum lines. Still fixing little leaks too. Oh and it might need an alignment, starts to shake a little at 60-65 mph, but it could be from that wheel bearing. I'll need some new fuel injector seals too, I think I have a leak there. But all in all I have a running car. Had to borrow parts off of friends that had DSMs down for rebuilds such as rad fan, gauge cluster, fuel rail, and some intercooler piping, and a battery. Well onto the pics!

Imagin-02 (Zach) and I trying to figure things out.

Yea I know, crazy, but hey I had a feeler out for it and somone wanted it. Little things kept popping up randomly. Right now being in highschool and all I cant have these little things happening, they add up fast. Once Im done with school and get a regular job, crazy fun stuff will happen. For now I just need a good daily. I plan on going into this stuff as my career, rebuilding cars for performance and all tat good stuff. I got me feel for it now I want more haha. Gives me more of a drive I suppose to getting schooling for the field having accomplished this.

I was wanting to look into an AWD '88 Beamer, or Subaru Impreza L, but my parents would give me a deal on their car which we know doesnt have any problems and is reliable, 2001 Grand Prix GT for $2000? Yea not too bad since they could get around $5000 for it. I'll see tho. I will forever have the 4G63, boost and AWD addiction :rocks:

One day I will have another DSM....... or if everything goes right, Evo 8,9 :p

I to am in High school or well just graduated.Im in the process of putting my Galant vr4 back together. She's getting a new 20g ported cyclone mani and some other stuff. On the other hand I need to start rebuilding the motor on my brothers 1g.Did you use the Haynes manual the whole time.

Yes the Haynes manual was used alot. Along with that THIS was extremly helpful as well. Its not extremly hard to rebuild a motor, as long as you take your time and measure alot. Having the funds to buy the parts at once also helps alot. Thats the reason it took almost a year because I was always waiting on money. Have fun with those two .:thumb:
