I have a 95 talon tsi with a 94 engine in it, and I have a Chilton book for a 95 and up 2g. Can I follow the torque pattern for a 2g in the book even though it's a 1g? Or do I have to find the torque specs for an actual 1g

Head bolt torque specs are not dependent on the car being a 1G or a 2G. They are dependent on the engine block being a 6-bolt or 7-bolt. Both a '94 and '95 model would be 7-bolts so using the 2G specifications and sequencing would be correct for your application.

tell that chiltons manual to eat a dick, you should be able to find something better if you have a look HERE
