ok i have a 1993 eagle talon with a 6bolt 4g63 non turbo and i was wondering how much power could i get out of it with out doing a turbo swap and still be able to run on pump gas?
:hellyeah:

Well I sure hope pump gas is the only thing your gonna put it in. A 1G 2.0 NT starts with 135HP, and without boost it's not gonna get much higher, but here's a few tips to get a little more power out of your NT...

The first two logical upgrades would be an air intake and exhaust. When your installing the air intake, take the air silencer out of the MAF. If you do get an exhaust system, it's not a bad idea to upgrade your exhaust manifold and downpipe as well... you can throw a straight pipe on in place of you catalytic converter, however it will make your exhaust a bit louder. Weight reduction helps too, remove things you don't need or replace parts with lighter weight ones.

Before you do any of this though, make sure you are up to date on your maintenance! (ex. plugs, wires, fuel filter, oil, etc.) Performance parts aren't gonna do you much good if your car is not running up to par in the first place.

Now get ready for the "sell it and get a turbo" comments ;)

I have a Turbo GSt for sale in the classified. Rolling shell with no motor. You have a motor, you just need a turbo now,and you'll be set.:thumb:

If he went with a high compression build he would need race fuel most likely. I think thats why he says what can he do and stay on pump gas.

yes im sure its a 6 bolt the motor is out of a 92 talon and i know that going with a turbo car would be better but im different and do odd things and have always wanted to get more out of my nt talon to prove a point and make a name for my little non turbo that every one seems to just forget becouse a turbo is easyer to get more power out of than a nt.

Well the thing is when you only have 4 cylinders it's hard to get big HP numbers without forced induction. Then theres the whole cost thing, if you want good power out of a N/T then your gonna have to go with upgrades such as forged internals, only problem is the cost doesn't justify the benifets. Give $2000 to a guy with turbo dsm and give $2000 to a guy with a N/T and I can assure you the guy with the turbo is gonna have a much more impressive dyno ;)

...but aside from all that, as a fellow N/T owner I encourage you to keep it :D

I agree. Besides, if you're asking how much power you can get out of an n/t 2.0, it would probably be best to start at the basics; if you're in it to make a point (or record) with your n/t motor or any motor, then you need a background in building the motor for naturally aspirated power. Start at the beginning and tell us what works and what doesn't.

yea it is my daily driver so i dont need 500hp out of it id just like to make a little more power eventually but money isnt exactly plently full right now expecially getting my 15 year old car in good shape haha!!!!!!!! recently ive changed plugs/wires, computer, lifters, timing belt tentioner, aternator, rotors, pads, axel, valve cover and frunt struts. but so far the only mods ive done is put a cheap performance muffler on and place a test pipe in place of the cat, removed the scilenser in the intake, put a block plate in the throttlebody and removed the EGR. what is the best timing setting for the nt ive played with it some but just dont seem right and what are the specs on a transmission i have one tore down to replace a gear and check syncs. but it has been down longer than i had planed and dont remember where the shims go.
