I just aquired a 92 Eclipse Non-turbo FWD. The motor doesnt run...but it is 100% complete. The previous owner ran the car dry of oil and the motor/cams locked up and stripped the timing belt. I havent even started working on it.

Im just wondering if any 1G head will fit and work on a non turbo 2.0L motor. Is there a big difference in the turbo motors vs the non turbo motors?

You can use any N/T or turbo 4g63 head on your car, the differences lie in the cams and a bit different port size and flow characteristics on the 2g 4g63 head.

Just make sure its a DOHC 4g63 as 1gs also had a 1.8 SOHC N/T.

Congrats on the purchase, now fill out your vehicle profile to make it easier for others to help you when you have questions :thumb:

Also, all 2.0 1g heads are interchangeable. Doesnt matter if they are turbo or non. Like stated though, the 1.8 liter head will not work, and the cams are different on turbo cars then nt. All youd have to do is swap your cams into the new head though.

ok..now it is updated. I really need someone with experiance with these cars to come over and look at it with me. That would be ideal...id even pay the guy!!
