What is the diffrence in motors between the turbo 4G63 and the NON TURBO 4G63? How much can a NON TURBO STOCK MOTOR HOLD?

This has been asked so many times but I guess I can awnser it.

The differences are the n/t block doesn't have oil squirter's, the turbo model does.
The 1G turbo piston's are 7.8:1 compression, and the n/t piston's are 9.0:1.

I havent seen anything about n/t cam's being different, but I do know that the 1G auto cam's are designed for low-end torque.

What all would it take to turbo charge a NON TURBO 4G63? What engine mods would i have to do to make around 300hp and a fun daily driver?

You're lucky that you already have the 4g63 powerplant to begin with. I do believe if you want to tackle this job you will need to get a turbo, exhaust manifold, injectors, intercooler+ piping and of course I think you need to get the water lines and oil lines to run the fluids for the turbo etc. The turbo ecu will also have to be sourced. But the issue that you will run into is the oil squirters also. Of course the compression is different.

I don't want to turn you away from not doing this projects, but you might as well get a turbo 1st gen if you want to turbo your car.

However next time please do a search, there is a full write up on how to do it and what you need. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=55459&highlight=4g63+non+turbo :thumb:

Ive looked and looked for a 1G turbo and ive found a few that are automatics and im really wanting another 5spd i had a 91 tsi that i got rid of and after that i kicked my self in the face! Ive come across alot of ESI talons so i was just wondering what needed to be done Thanks on the response i appreciate it!

You'd save more money if you drove to florida or somewhere nice to pick a clean one up then if you build one from scratch.

Your best bet would be to buy a 4g63t with the ecu and wiring harness. If you try to turbo charge a non-turbo your also going to have to worry about AF mixture, waste gate, a ton of piping and more headaches than its worth. Another option would be to keep an eye out for a 4g63t out of a wrecked evo from japan. If you can wait a few month to get it shipped it would be worth it. Then you'll also have a 16g turbo to work off of too.
