1g non-turbo exhaust

Hi everyone. I tried to post in the 1g tech forum, but it wouldn't let me. Also, sorry if this question has been asked...I searched and couldn't find any info on it.

Will a 1g FWD turbo cat-back exhaust bolt up to a 1g FWD non-turbo? It seems like they would be identical from the cat back, but I wanted to be sure before buying one. Thanks!

you can make it fit with a little fabbing. the exhaust length from the cat is different.

it will be a little big, I'm assuming 3". Thats cool for a turbo car that's forcing large amounts of air in and out of the engine, but it will hinder the low end performance of a N/T. This is the same problme i am running into with finding an exhaust.

The turbo cat back is the same as the non turbo.

OK, cool, thanks guys. I was planning on running a 2.5" catback. I'll see what I can find. If anyone has a good, cheap suggestion, post it here! Think I'll go scour ebay.

on a non turbo set up try 2.5 depending on how your going to mod, and also depending on your headers and if your doing a high flow cat, but you dont nothing too high flowing for a n/t ### youll loose low end torque but only gain high end.... but try it out...

If megan racing makes a 2.5 you should get that and matt it up at the rear section so it fits.

I have a Pacesetter header that looks like it has a 2.5" outlet to the cat. I bought a 2.5" cat and it's just sitting in the garage, waiting for an exhaust. It won't fit up to the stock exhaust. I looked at the Megan exhausts and they look ok, but I don't want that type of muffler...I think it was a round can style. By the way, I contacted Megan and they are currently working on an exhaust for 1G FWD NTs. I found a shop that's pretty close to where I live and they have some pretty nice looking exhausts...I'm going to look more into them. Here's the link:

i always think getting them custom done at a shop is the best way to go if they do mandrel bends, and then you canjust pick the size and length and route the exhaust goes.

I was going to do that, but the only local shop that would even help me out wanted around $350 or more to do it, not including resonators. I wasn't impressed with the shop either. I figured I could spend the same amount on a nicer premade kit.

This other shop I went to was hilarious. The guy looked under the car and said shit like, "Well I dunno, I'm gonna have to do something about that header. This is gonna cost ya." I was like, "What about the header??? I'm asking you for a catback exhaust!!!" The whole time he was just so negative about everything. I guess he didn't need the business. He also said he would do some research about what muffler to use and would call me back. I never heard from him. I guess I'm just really worried that if I get a custom exhaust made, I might be disappointed with it, like fitment, bends and sound.

pacesetter makes headers, high flow cat, and a cat back all for N/T fwd 1gs. I would say go go with them. I've heard the sounds is ricey but you can get a replacement can for cheap. Thats the best bang for your buck i would say. Its the size you need and all that plus cheap. You can get it here> http://www.importperformanceparts.net/ plus many other sites on the net.
