Hey Dsmers,

This is my first post here as I have a problem with the install of my non cruise control cable.

I bought the non cruise cable off ziggy at rtm racing and had my mechanic install it.

I noticed slowly but surely the gas pedal getting looser and looser, untill finally two days after cable installation the gas pedal goes right to the floor with minimal rpm gain.

I moved the throttle cable mounting bracket all the way to the driver side, so much so that I now only have one bolt in it with it fully adjusted towards the drivers side as far as possible.

when my cable is in the correct mounting position, both bolts in, there is about two inches of spare cable protruding out of the gas pedal mounting spot.

1) is it possible this cable has streched? I noticed a plastic lining coming out of the throttle cable housing near the mounting points on the intake manifold?

2) With this much free play and extra cable is it possible my tech just left the cruise control cable in the car?

let me know your thoughts, this is driving me crazy

A new cable would not stretch 2 inches, it's anybody's guess without pictures. Did you notice any kink or damage to the cable? What happens if you try and pull the cable from the TB side?

make sure the cable is mounted properly at the pedal and bolted securely in the firewall. and be careful off that plastic lining. it could come loose and hold your throttle open during operation.
