I have a brand new in the box ETS front mount intercooler kit for a 1g. We are dry fitting the kit with the engine and trans out. I can not seem to find and install instructions on the web anywhere. WE have it fitted to the modified front bumper. What is throwing me off is the 2 sections of 3" pipe. I did not know if it may be for an optional 3" gm maf upper pipe but there is no BOV flange in it. If you have pics of your install or any advice that would be great. Thanks

Are the piping also from ETS? They have been discontinued for long time. Yes, there was an option for GM MAF but maybe you should upload pics of the pipings. So we can see the situation.
This is very old but here is the instructions for 1g, please refer if necessary. (I have had the ETS pipings for GM MAF, the BOV flange position is much lower than the pics in the instructions below)

Are you saying all your piping is 3"?
Or is it mostly 2.5" and then there are these two mystery pieces that are 3"?

I bought my ETS intercooler kit with piping in 2014. I don't even remember ordering it with the GM MAF couplers but apparently I did because here is my order confirmation from ETS:

We didn't use the GM MAF, and I don't remember if the two 2.5" to 3.25" translator couplers were rubber or metal. (@DSMPT would remember that)
As installed on my car all the piping is 2.5" stainless. Maybe there was an option for 3" piping at the time. I don't remember for sure.
My BOV fitting is low on the upper pipe, only a few inches behind the radiator. There might have been an option for no BOV fitting.
As I remember, at the time ETS offered the piping in either stainless or aluminum. I got the stainless.
Mine was actually installed by English Racing in 2016. They are only a few miles from ETS. ER probably swapped some of the things I ordered for how they wanted to do it, which was speed density, and they must have got a different elbow to the throttle body because I ordered "for stock manifold" and we didn't do it with a stock manifold.

@DSMPT Hiroshi, your intercooler is an ETS isn't it? I looked for it on your Specs page and couldn't find it!

@DSMPT You are correct that the intercooler piping is all 2.5" and then there were 2 pieces of 3". I believe your last pic explains it. Looks to be maybe piping for a cold air intake. That must be what it is for. Been to many years for tons of documentation on the internet and I believe ETS said that they discontinued the kit 12 plus years ago. I did reach out to ETS to confirm. After some closer looking at the ETS box last night on the inside flap of the box it was had written in black marker and it said "1g short + CAI". I really appreciate all the pics. I will print them and put them in the archive.

Those couplers were silicone.

Now my intercooler core is not an ETS but yes I had an ETS 4" thickness street FMIC on my 1g and still using their upper IC piping w/ bov flange. They used to sell all the pipings individually with options (such as 2.5" or 3" intercooler inlet/outlet and pipe diameter, etc). I bought the ETS core and the 2.5" pipings for GM MAF separately because I didn't need some pipings, so.
I use the shorter upper IC piping for GM MAF to sandwich a 3" short pipe w/ welded bungs to mount water/methanol, nitrous nozzle, have extra NPT ports etc instead of a GM MAF. It's useful.

Yeah mine too. The BOV flange is close to lower radiator. Mine also came from around 2013-2014. I guess there are revisions. Ours are late and the pics above are early, like pre 2010.
