Ok here's the dealio:

My buddy just bought a 91fwd tsi and since I recently totaled my car he decided to buy my ecu+link. I couldn't get his ecu out because one of the plugs (I don't remember which one it is atm and the car isn't near, but it's the plug that has 18 wires going into it) in the back had a broken clip, so I cut off the plug off his car and cut the plug off mine and started re-wiring everything back up last night.

My problem is that two of the wires are solid yellow, and two are black with blue dots. I looked through the electronic service manual and can't find anything to do with the ecu or it's wiring, and I just looked for about half an hour. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks guys.

The (2) solid YELLOW wires going to the 18 pin (C-60) connector go to pins 54 and 59.
  • Pin 54 - Ignition Trigger for 1 & 4
  • Pin 59 - ISC motor for coil A2
The (2) BLK/BLU wires going to the 18 pin (C60) connector go to pins 63 and 66.
  • Pin 63 - MPI relay pin 8
  • Pin 66 - MPI relay pin 8
If you'd like I can also get you the wiring diagram to where the wires go to, that way you know you're wiring it in correctly. It sounds like you've got the Mitsu electrical service manual so you should be set, just let us know though.

Next time ask before cutting anything. You could have just swapped the pins out of the broken connector into a good one and not damaged the wiring. There are instructions for swapping pins in the tech archive.

A little TLC with a broad blade screwdriver will allow you to push down the broken retaining clip and not break the white edge connector to get the bad connector out of the ECU.

:ohdamn: Well, that sucks.

We're going to try and finish it after work tonight. I still have to go through the service manual and find where exactly the yellow wires run.

Steve and Gofer, if you guys could check this thread sometime this afternoon I'd really appreciate it. My record with dealing with the service manuals isn't very good.
