Hi All,
I have a talon TSI that was having boost creep issues.. it is a bone stock motor.. The wastegate had a leak so that took care of the problem, while I was at it I took off all the emissions vac tubing etc, egr. I also removed the BCS and I found the knock sensor wire had fallen off the sensor, I drove it without the sensor and everything was fine. Once I replaced it then it starts to act like its seeing knock, could this be caused if the sensor isnt tight enough? Anything else I should be looking at? It only happens when I need to accellerate, it just falls flat on its face, there is no CEL..

Any help is appreciated, thanks..

IB when you removed some of the emissions stuff you left something unplugged. I would absolutely leak test your car. If it's not a huge leak you can drive around fine in vacuum, but as soon as there's load it'll run like ass from the unmetered air.

You mean from losing metered air, un-metered air enters the system when you're in vacuum. Bottom line, a thorough boost leak test is in order.

If it seems to run much better with the knock sensor wire disconnected, either the knock sensor or its wiring is bad and you're getting phantom knock or there is something wrong with the motor that is causing serious knock. You might want to get a new knock sensor or check the actual sensor for brown goo that often leaks from it when it is failing. Just don't disconnect the knock sensor as a fix. It's the engine's main mechanism for keeping the motor alive under full load.
