well i put my transmission back in the car, and now i barely get any boost i think i might have 5psi by 5000rpms, its horrible. i took of the o2 housing to look at the turbo blades and they are fine, no excessive shaft play, and the turbo spins very freely as always. took off the wastegate, cant find anything wrong with that. all bolts are tight on the exhaust manifold. did a boost leak test, no leaks, holds pressure fine. is there anything else that could cause boost issues like this? like if the car is running rich or something?

make sure the wastegate actuator is pulling the flapper fully shut. What are u using as far as boost control. Try this, disconnect the Wastegate actuator from the boost source, go for a 3rd gear pull (watch your boost guage) if it boost fine, then you have and issue with the actuator or your controller. But 5lbs sounds like your actuator isnt closing the wastegate. Do that and report back.

i have a 41mm tial wastegate. i took the wastegate off, took the downpipe off, inspected the turbo, inspected the wastegate, everything is in perfect working order....i was thinking about it, and i know my greddy type s is old and crappy, i wonder if its leaking, which would make sense, maybe the line could be kinked also. i might just try to find a crushed 1g and see if that helps.

If your Type S is leaking you know it after a boost test. How much PSI are you testing it to?

i didnt test that high, just enough to see if there were any couplers blown off or anything. maybe 5 psi at the most.
