Laggy boost between 10-20psi

i have a stock 7 bolt running and evo3 16g, with a greddy profec b spec 2 boost controller. The boost is set to 21psi. when i get into boost i hit 10psi real quick then once i get to about 15psi it seems like it lags for a second to get to 21psi. It just seems like it gets to 10psi quicker then it gets from 10-21-psi i thought it should be about the same. Is there anything i can adjust in the boost controller to fix this problem? any suggestions?? Thanks

What BOV are you using? You have have a small boost leak from the BOV. Also, double check your exhaust bolts, make sure everything is tight. I had the same problem with mine. It hit 15lbs quick then lagged before hitting 19lbs. I tightened up the manifold-to-turbo bolts. It fixed the problem.

i have a 1g bov. i just purchased the car and i want to figure this out. i have not done a boost leak test but the previous owner did and he said there were no leaks. so check the exhaust manifold bolts and make sure they are tight and also do a boost leak test?

I'd still do a boost leak test. And yes, also check to make sure the bolts are tight.

alright so its probably not related to the BC? the car just feels like it doesnt have the torque. ive read that the E316G packs a punch and has that torque, the car is fast it just doesnt feel like something is quite right.

I have EXACTLY the same problem....except i got mine set for 25, it hits 15 quick....holds to 18 then jumps to 25...really weird. ILL be watching this thread...

so when im doing my boost leak test i will for sure know if i need to crush the bov or not right? i have a boost leak tester so i just need to put in about 22psi and make sure it can hold it. If it leaks i guess i will crush it a little bit and try the boost leak test again.

Well if it's leaking out the bov then you'd have to crush it, but if it's not leaking out the bov then leave it alone.

Look into the Dodge Garage Mod before you decide on crushing that bov.

That is an idea. Your MBC may be at 10psi, then you creep up to the 21psi.

I wouldn't crush that BOV yet. Crushing those BOV's is mostly used for HOLDING more boost ( 21lbs or more) not fixing boost leaks. Chech the gasket on the BOV, and check your MBC, see if it feels loose or is easily turned. What does you boost gauge say you idling vacuum is?

i have an electronic boost controller. its the greddy profec b spec 2. ill get back to you on the vac pressure at idle. i dont know for sure but i believe its at 18vac. i checked the turbo to manifold bolts today and all are tight. 3rd gear feels faster then 2nd gear to me too. im running 21psi.

when i do a 2nd gear pull it makes it to 20psi but then it goes down to 10_15psi and then when i get to 6500-7000rpm it makes it back to 20. why does it go to 20 then bounce down to 14ish psi??

Sounds weird! Does the car feel like it's losing power when it looses boost pressure. It's a weird question to ask, but I'm starting to think it's either a strange boost leak, or you need to check and maybe replace your map sensor. The boost gauge may be reading a lose of boost pressure without it actually happening. Make sense?

Get a Hallmann boost controller. It does kind of sound like creep, but I'd be willing to bet it's the boost controller.

im going to try a mbc. which is best for high amounts of boost? i need something thats gonna handle up to like 26psi. i dont want to spend a lot on it though. how are the cheap ebay mbc? i dont wanna waste money

Well I use a MBC from Dejon. I have cranked it to 34 psi for a while. Just a recomendation!
