ok so i installed a new ported evo 3 16g with 34mm flapper, fmic with short route piping, and 660cc injectors

question is: How much boost should i be looking at max on pump gas? the turbo is "capable of alot" so i want to know what max psi i can use with my mods as i dont know how to figure that out myself, i was just going to set it to 20 and tune it there, or turn it up 2psi at a time till i hit the wall LOL.

my other supporting mods are 190 fuel pump, pocketlogger with afc, GM MAF, MAFT, turbo back exhaust, mbc, etc...

my friend was running 18psi with a good tune on stock injectors and stock side mount intercooler

well since you have a logger i would start out a littlebit lower first to make sure your not running dangerously lean before upping the boost, maybe 16-17 psi, then as sure as everything is a okay uppit a couple of lbs and re-log to see what happens.

Lets not forget about Hg and head studs? I ran 20 psi on my stock tsi with a small 16g and my head bolts stretched to the max and it shot my head gasket out with a vengence, but it was fun keeping up with my friends modded evo8

i ran 27 psi on the stock HG for almost a year. when it was time to change to a ML HG, we took it out and examined it. it was perfectly fine. i wouldn't worry too much about this. around 23~24 psi, the studs will start to give. usually you should be fine doing 22 psi but start it at 20 first to be sure. :thumb:

well the 4g63 is susposed to run about 18lbs reliably...so upping the turbo and boost are sure to get a bad gasket.

I'm sorry, but thats WRONG info. Theres no set number on how reliable the 4g63t is. It's based on the TUNNING more than anything, also the condition of the 15year old car-to 6or so year old car, and how well it's been taken care of.And what MODS you got.

Next time please think before you post something I'm sure you read in another post.
