hey,
Im getting ready to do the fuel pump rewire, I got the kit off of ebay, and the instructions are a condensed 1 page version of the vfaq:notgood: ... anyway, im having problems with the relay box thingy... i have the actual wiring diagram of the relay, but that kinda stuff just confuses me.... the way mine is set up is like

I know where the power goes to, the one at the main top, but other than that, im lost, and yes i did read all the vfaqs, but I guess im kinda slow, I need to know where the ground, the wire to the pump, and the wire to the car goes...

I know I splice the black/white wire on the pump harness, and all of that, jsut unsure of which place to plug those into the relay, so any help will be greatly appreciated...

Thanks ahead,
Evan

well, because the way the forum is set up, it wouldnt let me show my little drawing the right way, just imagine the one on top centered, and also the one on the bottom centered, but really if you have done this mod, or have any clue how to help me, you probably know what im talking about...

ok, first sorry about the posts, im getting some sort of weird message when I try and edit, but whatever, I just drew in paint what i was talking about, the black lines are the way the prongs are set up on the relay, I know where the # 30 is at, but i need to know where the # 85 86 87 & 87a prongs are at, if I can get that, then I can do the rest

yes it is stamped on it, but as I said before, I cant really read those with any accuracy, and it just confuses me when i look at it, and it appears that my pic didnt laod, so ill try it again

edit: the pic shows up, so someone just fill in the blank for us dumb kids

Ok 30 is your output to your fuel pump, 87 is your power from your battery, 85 is the power from your factory fuel pump plug (which is your trigger), and 86 you will put to ground. The center one 87a will not be used.

ok,
got 2 comment questions w/e you wanna call them...

1) according to http://www.vfaq.com/mods/pump-relay.html 30 is my feed from the battery, maybe it is different on a 2g i dunno

2) until now, LOL, I havent had a poblem on where the numbers go to the car ground w/e, just where those numbers are at on the relay, that pic is the way the prongs on the relay are setup, and i just need to know which prong goes with what number...

You can use either 30 or 87 as input. I always use 87 as input. But to explain it easier just do like you were going to and use 30 as your input. Then the one at the very bottom is 87 use it as your output to the fuel pump. 86 is to your right use it as your ground. And then 85 is to your left use it as the trigger from your factory harness. AS long as you have your input and output on top and bottom your ok. 86 and 87 you can use either way just use one as ground and the other as your trigger form your factory wiring. But if your using a relay that has the matting plug for it look to see if it has a jumper from the two side ones if it does cut it off.
