I bought a 91 AWD TSi auto with only 68000 miles on it. Looking to make it my project car. I was am getting ready to change out the timing and balancer belts. It will be the first thing that I do since I would imagne that they are stock 20 year old belts. I would like to get a few things out of the way all at once. I plan on changing both belts, pullies, tensioner, water pump, lifters. And I am thinking about some cams at the same time. I keep reading these post that say the cams are the least aggresive but according to my manual the 6 bolt auto cams are the same as the 5 speed 6 bolt cams. They are NOT differemt untill 92 with the 7 bolt. I want to get it all done once but was worried about losing low end power. What do you think would be the best to do? The car already had a big ass front mount and a full 3 in exuast. I plan on dsmlink with bigger injectors and a EVO 3 turbo. But since the fist mods will be invold the belts I would like to knock out some things in the process of have them off. Any advice would be helpful thank you.
