Well a damn valve broke at the stem and ate up my piston and head a little. The head is getting fixed but the piston is gone. I have no damage to the block, which is a good thing since it was recently rebuilt, but i need to replace the piston. I want to get the piston replaced but being a 1Gb 7-bolt, will any 1G piston work? Even one off of a 6-bolt without maching the rods. I just want a replacement piston i can take to the machine shop and get it pressed on to me rod without throwing off the compression on a cylinder. Sucks to have the late 92-94 cars, when they need fixing
i did a search and found a lot of piston face differences as far as some having an arrow to the timing belt side and such, and just want a clear answer to wether they will fit and are the same compression.

so from i see the pin may have changed from early '92 (6-bolt) to the late '92 (7-bolt). hey if they are the same i'll take 1 of the other 3 that are still good
