as the title states i want to know if these pistons Ross DSM Pistons W/Rings#-#DSM Internal Engine Parts#-#Engine#-#DSMparts.com

will fit my 7 bolt my freind gave them to me and they were for his 6 bolt but he ####ed his engine up so he gave me his pistons and will they fit my stock rods??? they are floating wrist pins

so please help

Why would you want to do that? you have to take the stock pistons of the stock rods and then have the 6bolts machined in and to my knowledge there are no horse power gains but you have lower compression so i guess you can boost more to make the same horsepower

well i need to make more boost and i am just wondering if its a sure good easy fit

like the pistons are floating wrist pins and the stock rods are???

IMO its not worth it even if it does fit. too much power and crankwalk here you come. now if you were gonna swap the crank, rods and pistons i would say just swap the motor. making more boost with less compression mayb not necesarrily make more power

well if all goes well i am getting a 6 bolt crank and will my 7 bolt rods fit on there and where do i find good rod bearings and crank bearings

I don't think its worth it to put the 7 bolt rods on there anyway. They're smaller and weaker than the 1g 6 bolt rods. From what I've learned, a good budget combo would consist of 1g "big" rods with the wrist pin holes bored fron 21mm to 22mm to accomodate 2g pistons. What's wrong with the pistons you have? I have some good 1g rods if you need them. They're still on the 1g turbo pistons. I pulled them in favor of forged internals.

Let me make sure I understand what you want to do.

You have a 7 bolt block, and you want to put a 6 bolt crank in it with 7 bolt rods and 6 bolt pistons.

As far as i know the 6 bolt crank will not work in the 7 bolt block, 7 bolt rods will not work on a 6 bolt crank, and 6 bolt pistons have a smaller wrist pin i dont think that will work on the 7 bolt rods either. Your best bet would be to find a 6 bolt block and a set of 6 bolt rods.

okay so i am going to need new rods and the 6 bolt crank wont fit my block so i need a 6 bolt crank and block along with 6 bolt rods ????

what will i need for the whole six bolt swap????

i know the crank

rods

flywheel(of course)

block

and what else am i missing??

Just noticed you're in a 1g. Alot of the stuff should be the same but you may not need absolutely everything that FAQ shows.
