Ive been out of the dsm ring for awhile and im just now getting back into it. I went and bought one of the new dodge challengers and love it. BUT I still feel there is nothing like a DSM. I have a 1g DSM with a 6 bolt and i want to try and put down 500-600 but would settle for 400-500 depending on the prices I am wanting a street legal beast. It may be daily driven but i think it will mostly be a weekend getaway car. I have been out for awhile and i searched this site for about 3 hours and havent really found a build that has followed through with what the first post questioned. I am in no hurry to build it and it will take a few months to save up about 4 or 5 grand. I know some of the basics. I want to run on 93 pump gas so ill need like 1000cc injectors. Ill tune with DSM link. Im thinking Wiseco piston and eagle rods All ARP hardware. High flow fuel rail Aeromotive fuel Pressure regulator Walboro 255 id like a 272 cam i just dont know which make is for what i want. Im just unsure of a lot of things and want to get them straightened out before i go on a spending spree. What kind of compression do i want? Should i overbore? What do i need for head work? I just need some steps in the right direction before i make my first purchases. Any help at all is appreciated. i would like stay non stroked 2.0. Most parts i buy are going to try to be from deals on here and locally. Let me know what you guys think i tryed to post pretty descriptive :)

Everything seems covered. North Vernon huh? Been there a few times LOL. I used to know Vern House. I run a rewired Supra turbo pump. They are factory Densos and whisper quiet. 280lph NOT rewired. You can pick a used one up cheap.

hey i have the bottom end you are looking for and also pte 1000cc's. the block is bored .020 over at 8.5:1 compression with weisco pistons, eagle hbeams, slowboy bse, arp main and head studs, and arp 2000 series rod bolts. i have a cometic tri-layer but its used i also have act 2600 6puck. all of this only has 10k miles on it and in great shape i ran it on e85 at 400hp pm me if interested.

Go with a hx40 set up and skip on the pump gas, e85 ftw

Stock block
Tripple layer head gasket
ARP head studs ftw
Hx40
Ets fmic
Jackal speed Density
walbro 255 rewired
1600cc injectors
E85
-6an fuel lines
Shep trans
Crower 272s

This should suit you nicley if you have a healthy motor, I would skip dsmlink because Jackal costs only $20.00 and does everything link does plus its speed density, with the mony you save you can use it on other things. I would shoot for 475awhp until you can forge your internals.

Also if you decide to get 1600cc injectors you may have to rewire your entire fuel injector wiring because the wires usually arent enough to handle injectors that big.. This is just something i have heard so just letting you know so you can look into it if it is something you really want to do :hmm:

This post was from 2011! I am interested in the block though!

Whoa there: you have to rewire youre injectors? As in, you need heavier gauge wire to run larger injectors?? Am i reading that right? If i am, i believe you are very mistaken sir and i dont believe you heard that anywhere. At least on this site

I doubt he has done much since he wants to buy that block. Building any car for the average guy is really tuff. There's always set backs some where down the line.

Yeah I ended up scraping that whole project because my 2g had a ton of rust.

You know what's even funnier is the same guy that said that about the injector wiring just made a build journal for 1000hp 1g LOL

Ok, i stand corrected. If the guy builds a 1000hp car i can hardly argue. Is this common knowledge? LOL, i seriously have never heard that and it doesnt make a whole lot of sense but eh, nothing wrong with over building a project. Thanks for the semi-sarcastic comment. Ill accept

edit: hahahahahaha, now i see what you are talking about. He JUST STARTED A 1000hp build thread. Ahhhhhhhh, yeeeeaaaaaaaa. Kind of a moot point now isnt it? That proves nothing and i wish him the best of luck with the build but i stick with what i said, ive never heard of running heavier wiring for 1600cc+ injectors. Look at everyones mod list, its never mentioned, never talked about.
I think, YOU think he actually built the 1000hp car already. Makes sense, seeing how the thread was started today smfh
