1G 1990 talon TSI won't start unless....

Well just purchased a heavily modified 90 model tsi. Right now on stock ECU, harness, intake and throttle body for the moment. Trying to get some basics established before going to ecmlink. The main issue is the car won't start unless the TPS is unplugged. Plug it in while it's idling and the car dies. Of course while idling with it unplugged, try and give it gas and it will kill it. Haven't logged anything yet, just trying to see if anyone has had a similar issue. I know the 90 models have some differences between later years. Maybe just a bad TPS, gonna test it Monday.

I would say either the TPS is bad, or severely misadjusted. Here's a good link to follow if you haven't already: http://www.vfaq.com/index-main.html Just select the Intake section, and TPS adjustment is at the bottom of the throttle body section within.
