1998 GS turbo installed sometimes starts and sometimes doesnt ECM questions

Ok guys I just bought a 1998 GS that has a turbo kit installed don't know a whole lot about it. I ended up taking it to a shop and they said I need to get a new ecm and then get a megasquirt with heavier injectors. I have a fuel to air mixture gauge and it just can't figure out where to have the mixture at (goes super rich then lean and everything in between)

So do I need to just buy an ECM for 98 gs then get the megasquirt as a piggy back heavier injectors and get someone to tune.

When the engine runs it does not run well at all. No knocking or anything it just seems like it def is not getting the right mix of gas.

Oh yea and it seems that the turbo is not getting any boost... when I give the car some gas the boost gauge wont get above 0. Seems I have a lot of problems. I absolutely love the car but need to get it running right. I will take some pics and post them.

First of all not sure how to use the narrow band, i had one before i knew it didnt help me years ago, and tossed it. Do a boost leak test, any cels, how do you know the computer is bad, open it up and inspect it for anything burned or unclean looking.

Ok... so I can just open the casing and check everything? And Ill do a boost leak test (going to google to learn how). I'll pull out 02 sensors clean them, clean injectors, new plugs. I def feel like its elecrical. I really want to get this thing running well. I know it will be a bad A! car. Ill take a pic and post tomorrow.

Oh yea and the tachometer does not work. I really want to get it figured out.

And what do you mean by narrow band?
