Hey guys,

I’m looking for a detailed list of differences (mounting bolts, filler neck, vents, etc.) between a 1997 and 1998 gas tank for a GST model. My current gas tank for a 98 GST is rusted on the inside and outside, and I was wondering if a 1997 gas tank is compatible with a 98, since 98 gas tanks are all discontinued and my only hope would be a used one at a part out. Plus, I think this one is too far gone, as I’m deleting emissions and the bolts for the charcoal canister were crumbling so I had to cut a hole in the tank to get the canister out (Should’ve just cut the studs out but when I tried that it felt like it was not cutting at all). I don’t think I trust jb weld to patch that hole for a long term fix. Unless someone tells me differently, I guess the only way to fix this is to buy a new gas tank. I know the fuel filler neck is different, but the filler hose that connects from the neck to the tank looks the same, and it seems to be in the same location, but if someone knows differently, please correct me.

Thanks in advance for the replies,

Kyle
