1997 mitsubishi eclipse rs bleeding sequence (W/O ABS)

i looked up the bleeding sequence for this car on all data and it says to have the engine running...
isn't the norm to have the engine off?
why does the engine have to be running?

There should be no reason for a car to be running while bleeding the brakes as far as I know. At least I have never done it with a car running before.

you dont have to have the engine running

Car doesn't have to be on. Fluid will still push through the lines. Just do in sequence RR-LR-RF-LF.

You always wan't to start with the furthest wheel away from the master cylinder. So like MOTOZACHL said Right Rear - Left Rear - Right Front - Left Front

Not sure if this is a 420a thing. but when i had a 98 gs i try bleeding my breaks. it would push all the air out fine but my break pedal would not come up at all. wouldnt build preassure unless i bleed them with car on.
