2G 1996 Eclipse GST Oil pump sprocket spinning

I put a brand new oil pump but the sproket on the bottom is just spinning one direction. What can be the problem

Did you install the balance shaft onto the new oil pump? (Or the stub shaft if it has a balance shaft delete) If you just put a new pump on but didn't have to install anything onto the oil pump gear then the one gear is just floating inside the pump and could be what is causing your binding.

Also you may want to change your thread title to "oil pump binding issue" or something like that. The title you have now it probably going to get skipped over by members looking to answer tech questions

Thanks I think that is my issue I might forget to put the stub. Thanks for the help
