So, I have a 1995 420a, where the FPR is on the fuel rail. My fpr was leaking, assuming it was bad, I decided to replace it. It wasnt leaking too bad, but bad enought to effect my milage.

I had an extra fuel rail lying around with a fpr, so I popped off that FPR, and put it in my fuel rail. I went to start the car, and gas is spraying everywhere and the car wont start. But gas litterally is pouring out there is a puddle on the floor.

Any Ideas, solutions, ect. I need my car in less than 10 hrs, and I still have to sleep. :banghead:

also I have a walbro 225 as I have the standard 420a turbo build. My fpr was leaking before I went turbo.

Shut the car off and dont start it for starters.. Sounds like you either have your return line off or just not tightened down enough.

I didnt mess with anything, litterally just took only the FPR everythign still in the car, it is coming out of the FPR on the rail. Its a 95

I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH. BE VERY CARRFUL WITH FUEL IN YOUR ENGINE BAY. I SWAPPED INJECTOS ON MY TSI. AND IT WASNT SEATED RIGHT. AS SOON AS I CRANKED IT, FUEL SHOT OUT AND SOMEHOW GRABBED A SPARK AND STARTED A FIRE. UNDO YOUR WORK AND WHY DONT you have a afpr?

I was told u can run 8 psi with a walbro 225 on a stock fpr that is in working condition. There fuel all over my alternator and everything. Do you think I could just slap a new O ring on the the small tip? is there a second O ring? All I did was swap FPR from one rail to the other in the car, took 15 mins.. :banghead:. I put oil on the o ring too to slide it in.

Also if i need to replace the o rings, what kinda o rings can i use?

Well, I not to sure how your fuel rail is set up but if your leaking gas,it definately needs to be fixed.I would take the fuel rail off to make it easier to work on.Remove the leaking FPR.Where the fpr slides in,Take some steal wool and smooth it out real good(real good) on the inside where the o-ring seats. As far as where to get the o-ring,Im not to sure if you can just buy the o-ring unless you buy a fpr.Take the oring and go to a parts store and have them match it up,unless they have one specifically for the regulater.Sometimes you can buy a assortment box of o-rings for like $10.

I have a box, found one but not an exact fit. The ring on there is wide, but thin. so its like a rectangle, vs round. I found one that fits diamter wise, but not thickness. I guess it stopped the leak tho, not seeing any gas, and milage is up:aha:
