2G 1995 eclipse gsx awd stock. ignition fuse keeps blowing

hey not sure if this is the right section to post on as it is my first time posting here. little back story on me. i mainly started on cars by doing body works.i recently got into mechanical stuff. i bought a eclipse gsx clean 1995 66k mileage for 1400. car ran rough as it had 6 years old fuel on it(had a bad smell). so i drained it and did a tune up on it. change fuel oil spark plugs etc. car was just sitting. battery was bad. i bought a new battery and it wasn't doing anything. my friends were there and they though i put it wrong so they turned it around and me being stupid, i let that happen. they boosted the car wrong way and there was a distinct blowing something sound. car was starting at first but always had to give it gas or it would shut off on me. wasn't drive able though. i figured it might be the tps sensor so i put a new tps sensor. nothing happens. 3 or 4 days later, it wasn't even starting at all. i gave it to someone that works on car and he f***ed up the wiring big time and lazied it out. now i got it back. did all the wiring all over again and put in a new ecu (old one got water in it. had yellow spots). i got the ecu for 120 eprom. once i put the new ecu on. everything on dash came on. turning key to ACC position, everything felt normal. once i try to turn the car over. the 30amp ignition fuse keeps blowing. it felt like it wanted to start (just a gut feeling ). but im curious to know what might be the issue. can the started cause that? its a five speed i was thinking of disconnecting the started and try to jump start the car but id save that for my last option, what else should i look out for. advance thanks to everyone that looked over and tried to help


edit: so theres 3 position im assuming ACC, ON, Start. my fuse blows when im trying to start up the car to drive.

check the amperage running through your ignition module, it sounds like you might have too much power, that's probably why your fuses are blowing, they are kind of like safety valves.

Recently I had to replace my ignition module,distribution block, and spark plugs because I had to much positive current running through my system. It is a cheap repair if your aren't electrically inclined (or lazy like me)

Someone more in tune with the electronics of a DSM might have better solutions than me, but personally that is where I would start

I would be looking for shorts on the ignition circuit. I'd have to pull a diagram of what's powered on ignition to be sure, maybe @luv2rallye or @dustyboner has one on hand.

Being that you're wiring has been messed with and repaired, I'd have a very close look at anything that was disturbed. If the ignition fuse is blowing as soon as you turn the key to that position, something is shorted out, grab a meter and start chasing it down.

@ThunderChild well by on position, are you refering to cranking the engine or just putting key on and turning it over once? im not familiar with electrical stuff as much but if someone can guide me. i looked up on youtube how to find shorts and mostly it was to use a multi-meter and start pulling fuses till you see amp drop but i dont think thats my issue. everything radio light and all comes on after i put key on and once i try to crank it, fuses blows up. we re-did a lot of wiring and put in a new ecu. before the dash light and all used to not come on at all but now after all the wiring being done, the lights on dash do come on. (fighting this problem for over 6 months).

You will for sure need a multi-meter to do this...And having a Haynes manual handy is incredibly helpful as it will walk you through step by step on how to diagnose ignition failures and how to use your multimeter correctly to self diagnose problems as well as tell you what resistance and voltage is correct for the OEM setup.

I think (ThunderChild) also makes a good point I totally forgot your wiring had been tampered with, I would definitely check for shorts while checking your ignition module

There are 4 positions the key can be in: off, acc, ign, and start. Which position is the fuse blowing in?
Also, we're going to need to know what wiring you fixed or worked on.

Generally if you have a high current fused circuit blowing when activating, that circuit is shorted to ground on the load side, or the load is bad and has zero resistance to ground. So all turning it on does is connect live current directly to ground.
Since you said the ignition fuse is blowing, it has to be something on the ignition circuit shorted out.

To help further, we need to know what you did with the wiring first.

--starting system
--theft alarm system

Thanks everyone. I'll be going over everything all of you said. I'll update back on what I found. Another question I have. I canr seem to find the 30amp fuse anywhere. It's not the same size. Been to 7 autozone today. 1 advance auto parts and none of them have it.

so update on what happened. i tucked some wires in and all. made sure starter wasnt grounding onto anything. didn't take part the dashboard to run all the wires going to ignition. i put in the first fuse. got super red and blow. 2nd fuse and car almost turned over. i heard the belt spin but before it could start over ign fuse blew out again. this only happens when i try to crank the engine. i can have the key on acc or on and nothing would happen. when i try to crank the engine it cranks a bit and belt spins but before it could start. the fuse blows. anything you guys can make out of this?
