Dear Community,
The driver's side functions as intended but the passenger's side refuses to work. Things I've attempted so far following the factory service manual instructions:
All fuses checked involving the seatbelt system.
Passenger's release and stop switches on assembly tested for continuity.
Seatbelt relay tests good.
Seatbelt motor operates when disconnected from the vehicle and powered by independent 12v power supply. Cable mechanism moves freely to and from as it supposed to.
Swapped passenger's seatbelt assembly with a known good one but also refuses to function.
Door latch switch tested for continuity.
Connectors affecting the passenger's seatbelt assembly checked for continuity and cleaned.
Continuity from seatbelt module to passenger side good.
Swapped seatbelt control module with no change.
Outer switch under center console cleaned and tested.
So far, no luck. The only place left may have something to do with the ignition switch but not sure. The interior is in pieces trying to track the issue and am open to any suggestions on what else to try.
Failing to find a solution, I'm considering a conversion to manual 3-point belts for passenger and driver's side. I realize Canadian vehicles have what I'd need but locating those parts here in the U.S. proving a challenge. Would other year U.S. model DSM's fit my application? Thank you in advance for your input!
