Having a problem with my passenger side auto seatbelt. When the ignition is turned on, the slider travels from the disengaged(open) position as it should, but when it reaches the engaged position(closed), it does not stop and stay as it should. All it does is slide up and down continuously as if one sensor is telling the car that the door is open and another sensor is saying that the door is closed. It started doing this last fall, so I just unplugged it because I couldn't figure out what to replace. I know that there is a small black box inside the door itself, but from other threads I have read were about the seatbelt not working at all, and their issues were attributed to that small black box. Nothing changes when the door is closed or open. When the ignition is turned off, it slides down the track to the disengaged position as it should. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and can tell me what exactly is going on before I just start replacing parts.

I am having this same issue. ( passenger side only) Was there a solution for your problem? I took out the fuse to make it stop cause it would not stop going up and down near the locked position

Anyone else have this happen to them.??

There is a "stop switch" built into the track. When the track assembly triggers the sensor it shut off power to the seat belt. I have had that sensor go bad and cause the seat belt to go back and forth without shutting off. The F.S.M calls it a "release switch", check that switch first. It has also a "door latch" switch in the circuit as well so if the first switch checks "o.K" then check the other one. It is going to be one of the 2 switches.

Remember while your there to lube the seat belt track guides, so that way they will run smoothly, you can use some good ole KY Jelly if you have any around.

Updating this thread to say that my problem was the sensor in the door. Cant upload any pictures to show what it looks like, but I can try to explain how to get to it. The sensor itself is located behind the door latch inside the door, mounted on a bracket. You have to take out this entire bracket to get to it. If I remember right, to get the bracket out, remove the 3 star-bit bolts that hold the latch in place on the door. Remove the 1 bolt above those to loosen the door handle. Remove one or two bolts that are located behind the door panel(which you will remove obviously). Unplug the sensor wire located inside the lower corner of the door. There is a bolt that holds part of the track for the window. This track will need to be removed. Remove the bolt and pull the track down, it should slide off and out. Unfasten the door latch and locking arms. Remove the door handle, and finagle the bracket out. The sensor is a black, rectangular shaped box held on by 2 or so philips screws. Replace it, install reverse of removal.

Heres a link to a thread which the OP had the same problem and fixed it. Also has a couple pictures

As for a part number, I do not have CAPS, so can't help there.
