Pulled the head off of my 6 bolt 4G63 that has 192K on it due to it leaking oil from the exhaust stud through oil galley and cam seals, and also valve stem seals that are shot. I just needed it to quit leaking oil onto the exhaust manifold so I could drive it.

Surprised to find decent cylinders. There was shadowing on two cylinders. Can't feel the ridge with my fingernail, nor any scrapes.

The car ran fine. I did a primitive test by filling up the valve chambers on intake then exhaust side with purple power and let it sit for several hours. No leaks!

I'm sending this off to the machine shop to get cleaned, milled, new valve stem seals, and inspect the guides.

ARP head studs on the way, we will see how much more life I can leach out of this 4G63.

My major issue is the the automatic transmission. I can't find any FWD auto's. I am going to attempt to replace a few clutch packs since the 2/4 band seems to be having issues. No 2nd gear sometimes, no OD ever.

I got the car in a terrible, albeit running condition. The interior and body were in good shape, but it has bad paint. After a bit of R&R I got it to a state where I could drive it around.

I have done... rebuilt ISC, china turbo for troubleshooting, 2g manifold, generic downpipe, o2 sensor, both cv axles, front brakes, two motor mounts, MT 450CC injectors, MT ECU, TPS, BISS screw, alternator, FIAV bypass plate, basic tuneup, transmission filter, bought palm cable + palm for MMCD - getting 0 counts of knock at 10psi.

I'm going to boost it until it's rebuild time. I want to try my hand at repairing the transmission next.

Edit:
You can see on the head, around #3 the fresh oil has been cleaned off. The piston on #3 was cleaned of most of its carbon deposits as well. I'm wondering if I had a head gasket leak beginning to develop. I didn't see any obvious signs on the head gasket.
