alright so ive been searching for about a month because ive been planning on buying wheels and tires for about a month now. i already ordered my wheels which are 18x8 with a +38mm offset. i keep getting mixed answers on the forums about tire size. just want to know if i can run 235/40/18 or possibly wider without rubbing. i have stock suspension. any other info you need out of me just let me know. would really appreciate any answers, actually waiting on an answer to order tires LOL

A 235/40 tire will fit on a 8-9.5" rim. On an 8.5" rim, the section width would be about 9.5".

I don't know how usefull that information is to you. But if it helps, I'm running th same tire size on my car and they don't rub. However, I don't recall just now what off set I'm at. Here's a quick shot from MOD 05.

I have 225/40/18 on my 97 and its lowered. I have no problems at all but i wouldnt chance it by putting 235 on there.:thumb:

Yeh I have 225 40s +42 offset on my Lowered 2g with no rubbing at all

Forgot to mention they are 18s..

I am gettiing 18x8.5 with 40 offset, car will be lowered around 2".. Best size tires?
And would I rub?

I'm on 18x8.5 +40 with 235/40 tires. Rolled the fenders in the back and there is no more rubbing.
I also had to roll the rear fenders.

I went from +45 offset 225s to +42 offset 235s, the 225s fit fine no problems... the 235s and wrong direction offset change gave me about 0.5" too wide tire to fit without rolling. I have a fairly wide footprint tire model/brand though, every model tire is different and the difference could be enough to determine fitment if you're close.

would 225 40 18 fit right on a 18x8 35 offset? or would i just get 235 40 18
