well i starting to upgrade the old girl and i just got my new 16g turbo and i just want to make sure that it is a 16g from a evo so here are some pics i took anything u can tell me about it would be thankful.

nice i got the turbo for 150 bucks. What do u mean its alot of fab work what all do i need to do?

It'll cost you more than what you paid for to install it and make it work on the DSM

If you wanted the 16g that works on the 1g/2g (as in bolt-on), this is the one you should have got:

yeah thats to bad... basicily the intake for the Evo VIII and IX are on the opposite side as the DSM's. The entire engine and tranny is just flipped. thats why it takes a lot of fabrication
 

That is for a 10 turbo, which is actually a lot easier to put on a DSM. We built a tubular manifold for a 1g, to fit one of our EF3x turbos on, and it worked just fine. You do need to have decent fab skills, the ability to build a tubular manifold, and custom downpipe. X turbos are standard rotation, like DSM turbos, while 8/9's are reverse rotation.

8/9's are not the turbo you want for a direct bolt on. You seem to be confusing them with Evo 3 16gs. And honestly $150 for one isn't all that cheap. I've seen a lot of used 8 turbos sell in the $200 range.

Might be hard to find someone who is willing to trade for a turbo that won't fit LOL. I have an evoiii with an install kit though.
