Could you run a small 16g with warblo 255 fule pump, FMIC, FPR AND stock injectors or do I have to run 550cc injectors?

im trying to run the same setup. if you have something to read your air fuel ratio, youll be able to tell how much boost you could run.

I have everything mentioned there with the apexi safc, it needs a tune but it still runs fine. I just bought the car so im trying to learn things here and there though

just realized you said small, i have the big. and it's daily drivin at 15 lbs with no problems

i only want to make 12 lbs of boost so do u guy think i can run this why out put 550cc injector in?

Yes...at 12psi you should be fine with 450s, but invest in a decent logger first if you don't have one, and watch your IDC's.

If you decide to upgrade, 650cc injectors are a good match for a 16g. They are at the top of what you can control with an SAFC, and will provide enough fuel to be able to push the 16g almost to it's limit with a good tune.

AFR is obviously a good thing to watch, but IDC's will give you a better indication of when you are getting close to the limits of your fuel system. If you are only monitoring AFR, you may run it too lean and only notice it after the fact.

By watching the IDC's go up as you slowly increase boost, you have the opportunity to stop before going too far.

12 psi? That's stock level? The 16g is no more efficient than a 14b until it reaches 20+ psi. Just stick with the 14b. Infact you could run about 15psi with a 14b on stock injectors.

+1 on that. Its a hell of alot cheaper to do too:thumb:

I don't really agree with being worried about watching the IDC's. It doesn't seem accurate anyways. I've seen 80+% on a bone stock 1G with no boost leaks; there are Evo guys on EvolutionM seeing 120-130% or more with no issues.

not to jack thread, but i'm new to the dsm thing and did not know the 14b would be fine for 15 psi, i'm currently running 15 psi on mine right now with a big 16g (im told its a "big") but what would I be able to run? all the work done on the car is in my profile

You could use the stock injectors but why stop short of that if you've already pretty much modded half the fuel system at this point ?
Finish off the whole 9 yards and get a set of 650cc injectors, it'll be enough flow plus it'll leave room for improvement.

255 fuel pump... your going to need an AFPR (adjustable fuel pressure regulator). That pump is a monster compared to your stock one. Just get a 190 walbro and you wont have to upgrade the FPR. And a 16g on stock fuel system... Please dont. Just go ahead and get a 14b for now untill you get your money right. Those run about $125 bucks and they are always good for a back up turbo if you blow your bigger turbo in the long run. Otherwise, you could have boost spike and own your motor :ohdamn::nono:

Yes, a AFPR is so crucial. The only mods done to my car is porting and a 255 walbro. All it does is override my fuel system.

I have a AFRP by fuelab. Rigth now til I build my other motor I am only liking for 250hp and after 400-500hp and then get a SAFC and 2gmas. want to run small 16g, walbro225, stock injectors, FMIC and AEM wideband.

dood if you run your stock injectors you will be in the same boat i am. I recently upgraded my fuel pump to a wally 255 and after logging it i start knocking around 18 psi so i backed it off to 17 no problems. i'm on a b16g ported an polished with bigger inlet. I know for a fact i'm not making 300awhp but i haven't had the car tuned.

I have an AFC Neo but don't figure it's worth the money to tune it if i can buy 650's and make real power. trust me, don't skip out on the injectors :nono:

I think my 14b is done so that is why I want to bolt my 16g up. What are the sign if you 14b is done?

Shaft Play. Any movement in and out is bad and the turbo is done for. Anything from Up/Down, Left/Right means the turbo is still good but could use a rebuild, but not necessary. If it moves more than 2 mm up/down/left/right then the turbo is garbage.

Are you blowing any dark smoke thru your exhaust? That's the first thing that will happen if you blow a turbo.

If your not spooling much or normal, turbos can get seized. Strange but does happen. Best way to know is check for shaft play.

Just want to know not doing that rigth now. But I think I am going to change it out soon for my 16g.
