14b water lines on 16g

is anyone using 14b water lines on their 16g...got a couple quick questions PLEASE HELP

alright i have a 2nd gen.... did you have to modify anything to make them fit the hoses, because the u shaped return line ends up pointing straight up when mounted on the 16g , it confuses me, the u shaped water line is the return line correct?

the "u" shaped line that starts at the front of the turbo should have a banjo fitting that connects to the turbo, and then a threaded fitting that screws into the water pipe

yes and no..... i have a 2nd gen therefor i dont have the threaded water line like on the first gens, i just have the rubber hose which is for the t25, i was wondereing if anyone had to modify anything to make these fit better, or when i mount my 16g will the 14b water lines on my 16g line up with how my water lines are stock

I used my old water lines from the T-25 for the 14b and the 16g...

thats the problem i dont have my water lines off of my t25, i forgot to take them off when i shipped it in for a 16g under warranty cus my remaned t25 failed, so following vfaq i ordered water lines for the 14b turbo, which im now realizing was dumb because they fit a whole hell of alot worse then simply bending the t25 lines a little bit, which was why my question was, someone who is using 14b water lines on a 16g turbo for a 2nd gen dsm, did you have to modify anything or do the lines match up, i would like to know this before i mount it.

i apoligize for any confusion, if any one is having trouble taking this in here ill shorten it


99 eclipse gst, 16g with 1st gen(14b) water lines on it, having trouble lineing them up to my car, any modification needed or am i doing something wrong,

I have piles of T25 (2G) water lines at my shop. Pay shipping and they're yours.

All the lines are the same. If you had the 14b on the car, the 16g will fit exactly the same!

The 1G coolant lines are meant to hook up to the water pipe and thermostat housing in different locations than the 2G lines. It's not a question of whether the lines fit the turbo or not- more of whether or not the lines fit the car.

Buy the coolant lines to fit the car, not the turbo.

Yes the 14b and 16g lines will have to be modded to fit the 2g. I had the same problem I cant remenber what all I had to do but it wasn't bad (I had my engine out and on a stand) But for the water lines I ended up cutting them and bending them to fit around the turbo and just used rubber hose to connect the two ends!

THANK YOU !! thats exactly the answer i was looking for, and f** vfaq for convincing my to buy 14b water lines, when it would have been way easier to buy my factory t25 water lines
