I'm doing a 14B swap into my 2G tomorrow. I have everything except for the water feed and return lines. I'm thinking of just using generic parts for them. Can somebody tell me what size fittings I need for the water return and feed lines? Thanks.

I used the stock lines when I put an Evo16G in a 98 Talon. I think I had to bend one of the lines a little bit but that was it.

So I can just use the stock lines? Do I need any other parts?

No, well unless the rubber coolant hose you have now is showing signs of wear you can always replace that. $1.26 a foot at your local Auto parts store. Other than that just take the old lines off and put em on your 14b!

Btw, if the crush washers are worn you can replace those too with copper washers or crush. 10 cents a piece.

i also used the 14b on my 2g...however i eliminated the coolant lines. i know this is not the right way to do it...however if you remember the 14b is also a oil lubricated turbo, and oil also cools to a certain extent. my 14b never gets cherry red after running hard, in fact the stock t25 got hotter than my 14b. all i did was change the water routes so that no water would leak, welded the holes on my water pipe that goes across the block and use a VERY large bolt to block off the return coolant hose which goes to the engine block. works perfectly fine. not saying this is how you should do it, but it does eliminate the coolant lines going to the turbo, keeps coolant temps down, and never gets hotter than usual.:thumb:

If you don't want to use the stock lines, you can also go to any hydraulic supply store and i'm sure they can build you a braided line with the fittings that you need and it wont be so expensive. Let us know how it goes.

What's the name of common 'hydraulic stores'?

Around your area I really wouldn't know. However, check out this link, I did a search more or less based on what I can see in your profile, and it gave me a few results. But if you want to go ahead and do a search on Mapquest, that'll be great. You can put your precise info and find the place closest to you. Let me know how it goes, or if you need anything else.

sounds like a bad idea to me LOL, make sure you have a Turbo timer if you do this

yes i do have a turbo timer...30 to 60 second delay is usually what mine is set on. i've never had problems with mine but if you're worried about your turbo getting too hot then dont do it, especially if you don't have a turbo timer or the turbo has some miles on it. i've got pics i'll try to load em up if i can find em

If you dont abuse the turbo it will be fine. Even without a turbo timer, if you were just doing regular driving staying out of boost, idling is not required afterwards.

So I installed the water lines easily. The only problem now is I didn't have a new top and bottom gasket for the oil return line. I'll just have to drop by the dealership tomorrow and finish up the job.

thats cool. So what lines did you end up using, the ones that came with the T-25?

Fantastic.

Be sure to help me out with some reputation points for the t25 tip. That goes for everyone, give reputation to those who help out. It'll make this forum better that someone acknoweldges your help.

LOL why even have a turbo if you are not even going to use it LOL

well I mean like save it for when there is a race. I don't see a point in driving up and down everywhere you go in boost and WOT.

Just my .02 cents.
