14b turbo

So I decided to buy a 14b which is downgrading from my 16g that i blew, but i was reading up on them and i learned that they only push around 11 psi stock? which is about half the psi that I got with my 16g. I also read that they can handle 16- 18 psi, but i'm not extremely familiar with turbos, and i was wondering what I have to adjust if i don't have a boost control?

you need boost controller to set boost

if you don't have money to buy a good boost controller, there is a lot of "how to do it yourself" topics. homemade boost controller are often as good as best brand

He just told you, a MBC (Manual Boost Controller). I'm running over 20 psi with my 14b (of course it starts dropping off in the higher RPMs) but it's not a bad little stock turbo.

I ran a hybrid 14b/16g at 20 psi on my last build for a long ass time.

i ran mine at 19 psi with race gas and ran a 13.5@100 in my 1g... turned it down to 17 psi and ran 13.3@101 with no other changes... id say 17-18psi is its max.... great little turbo though especially mpg wise

We should be asking you exactly what you adjusted to get your 16G to boost beyond 11psi because the 14B and 16G use the same actuators.

The 14b isn't a bad little turbo, I ran mine at 18 psi on my gst and had great boost and still got ok mpg!

Like the rest of the guys said the 14b is a great little turbo..Swap on your 16g hotside like josh suggested and a manual boost controller and you will be good to go..I think you were talking about boost creep if you got over 11 psi withough a mbc on the 16g..
