14b turbo

I have the turbo on my car but it doesn't spin freely it takes a little bit of force to turn it but i doesn't have any shaft play at all none up none down or in and out but should it be that hard for it to ?

It should spin free. It could possibly have a bent shaft.

It doesn't scrape the sides of the housing. it just doesn't spin freely like the t25 did. Even after i blew that turbo it still was easier to spin than this one...

It may not scrape the housing if it is bent. It only takes a couple of thousandths to make the shaft bind.

Check your exhaust manifold and oil lines perhaps its just lubrication.... You placed a 14b inplace of your T25 when you blew it?

Yep I got the 14b from my friend for 60bucks or something like that. It had no shaft play when i bought it so it was in ok condition. but that was over a year ago. Now I'm in the process of trying to get the motor out and get it fixed. Its so hard to do these things when you have very limited tools...

did you always turbo-time the car? my uncle didnt do that in his laser and the turbo stopped spinning, but it had no shaftplay.

The 14b is water cooled. No need to let it run unless you've been beating the piss out of it.
