Colder than you, North Dakota
I recently purchased a big 16g, along with a slowboy racing manifold. My car is stock except for 3' turboback exhaust,act2100. I just got a really good deal on the package. I am running 10 psi no manual boost controller. I have a scanmaster3 and it is picking up 33 counts of knock when I takeoff then it completly goes away when I rip it.I never had a knock issue before the sensor is new. I just want to know if there is something wrong with running a big16 at stock psi. my scanmaster says the injector duty cycle is 88% and it waS hitting 98% with 14b even though it was creeping to 14 psi. now there is no creep. thanks for replies

I don't understand your question?

If you're getting 0 knock at stock boost levels at < 90% IDC, what's the problem? since you're 1g, live and die by knock counts. Sh*t if I were you i'd turn up the boost until i got too much knock :p

The question is simple. Why do I have knock now and never any before turbo swap. There isn't any when it's reving out but that wasn't my question. If i turned up the boost any i would more than max my injectors,so what good would that do besides lean it out and blow it to sh*t. So somebody who can help please post. Simple question looked through about 40 pages of posts nobody has ever asked this question otherwise I would ave read up on it.

Ok, in your first post you said you got knock before you "ripped it"? If this is the case, chances are your experiencing phantom knock, most probably from finished lifters. Did you have the logging device when you had your 14b? If you didn't, then i'm almost positive its phantom knock judging from what i personally understood from your post.

10psi on a 16G is probably still less airflow then a 14B at 14psi so that SHOULDN'T be your problem... To give you an idea, i get 43 counts of knock, usually in first/second gear between 2500-3300rpm (all this at partial throttle) but if i hammer it while its knocking, the knock carries through and stays unless i let go and hammer it again, then i get ZERO knock. Changed my lifters, problem solved.

My knock is exactly how you described yours. Although I had the scanmaster with 14b and didn't knock. something consider though. Thanks

CorvetteBoy i have the exact same problem as you did. I get knock while barly on it then if i punch it, it stays but if i let off real fast and get back on it, 90% of the time it goes away. What kind of lifters did you get? Stock or 3g? Also how was the install on those?

I thought somebody would know more.It isn't a dumb question.

I've seen people talk on and on about stupid questionds, this one is good. THANKS alot :notgood:
