I got a guy who is willing to trade me straight up, my T-25 for his 14b. He owes me some stuff and the cars clutch and tranny are mesed up so he said he would trade me turbos. I know the 14b is an upgrade from my turbo, but how much of an upgrade? Will I notice a difference in power? How high can it boost to safely? Also what other things will I need in order for me to put it on my car? Thanks alot guys.

14b 1g t25 2g all u need to put it on is the jpipe which your buddy should give u and all the oil lines and coolent lines on it its easy to put on i also have a buddy who is gonan turbo his civic and has a 14b i told him for his civic the t 25 would be better i think so he told me to ask around to see if anyone wanted to trade his 14b with j pipe and all the lines for a t25 and a bit of money u pay for shipping let me know if anyone wants to pm me thanks alot hope my little info helps o yeah search theres many threads on this also www.vfaq.com has a write up on it

The 14b has more topend power than the t-25. But the t-25 spools faster than the 14b.

so for a civic a t25 would be better right since it wouldnt spook till 4 -4 1/2 well mine did with the t25 and u dont need that much boost 6psi so it would hold it all threw!

Thats weird, I have a EVO16G and it reaches full boost at like 3000-3300 rpms. Its not ported, but my 02 housing is ported to the max (SBR ported a new 2g housing for me). I imagine a t25 would spool at a much lower rpm considering it is smaller (lighter) turbo.

T-25 hits full boost before 3000rpms, but drops off well before redline. When all stock you'll notice a little bit of an upgrade w/the 14b over your T-25.. and in the longrun, the 14b just handles upgrades better whereas you're going to want to get rid of the T-25 well before any major upgrades.

Keep in mind that all of the automatic 1g turbo's were the 13g, and manual 1g turbo's were 14b.

Yea, a t25 on a Civic would be an excellent match. It would spool up way before 4k though, and it would have no problem at all holding 6psi to redline. Our cars just suck alot more air than a Civic, so thats why we run out. Plus we're running anywhere from 12-15psi on ours.

At what RPM does the 14b start to boost and when will it hit full boost? Thanks alot for the help guys.

my 14b hits full boost around 3k and holds whatever it's set at till redline, its a huge difference from the T-25, plus you'll be able to bolt on your 16g in the future..............You can boost the 14b at like 16lbs for a daily driver and it will last forever. I turn it up to like 17-18 at the track with race gas. I've seen people go as high as 20-21lbs of boost on them at the track or racing on the freeway...............Its just an overall better, more reliable, and more powerful turbo than the T-25.

I hit full boost around 2700 on my 14b, but I ported around my wastegate flapper and I have an o2 dump. I would say go for it make sure you get the j pipe with it too. A 14b is still a small turbo but it has a lot of potential. Ive seen many 2gs go 12s on them with a few bolt ons and some decent tuning.
