im looking to install a 14b on my 95 gst and was wondring if i need a fmic and what is safe boost on it.doing this cause its cheaper than a 16g and am looking to make 250 to 280hp or as close to 300 as i can get.any advice is appreciated.:thumb:

With no fuel mods around 14-15 psi to stay safe. Some will run more but not always

You shouldn't need a fmic with a 14b, all you will do is increase lag, after all, they came with stock side mounts in the 1g's

Well you going to need a few mods to get over 300 hp on a 14b with a stock engine..If your not planning on going over 350HP than I would suggest a sidemount IC..

Safe boost is 15psi or less.As your car sits right now.You will feel a difference in the but dyno with the 14b installed over the same boost on your t25..

I will be doing the same swap this weekend :)! You do not need a front mount intercooler asap if running stock boost on the 14b but I would upgrade to hard piping if you have not already. However if you want to push 280hp right now you will need a fmic, mbc, injectors, fuel pump, fpr, and either SAFC or DSMlink.

Goodluck with the 14b!

20 psi on a 14b is not uncommen..You shouldn't need a front mount right away..But like I said If you go with aftermarket side mount, those are good for 350hp..A front mount might cause more turbo lag..Unless later you plan on going with a 16g or something..

Stick with under 15psi, untill you get fuel mods and dsmlink..

What size injectors are you going to run and what are you going to be tuning it with? No one will be able to tell you how much boost you can run for sure. You need to be able to log your car and figure it out for yourself. Otherwise stick with stock boost levels.

Stock boost until you upgrade fuel system. When then is done get a logger and see what is safe for your car. Everyone's car is different.

650s are great if you want to run pump gas..I would go a little bigger, depending on if your sticking with the 14b or going larger down the road..If you plan on going with e85 down the road then Id go large or go home..But I don't know if you even have e85 in your area..

If you are running 650s you can run SAFC any larger injectors you need DSMlink. SAFC is a little cheaper but if you want to do it the best way get big injectors and DSMlink. That way you only have to pay for the upgrade once. Not get 650s now and then 3 months when the powerbug bites you have to dish out more cash or bigger injectors.

Get a 190 fuel pump instead of 255, with the 190 you won't need a fpr. If you do some searching you will find that 650's and SAFC is not easy to tune with. SAFC and 550's would be much easier but if your going to run more than 20 psi then 550's will likely max out.

Use the search button and you will find the 14b thread that has guys in the low 11's and quicker.

If your just wanting to be faster than other guys in town you need to make sure you tune it right or else your is going to blow up and they will just laugh and drive on by...

If you are not looking for more power than get:

650s
190 fuel pump or evo pump
fpr
SAFC

Most will say get DSMlink because of all its capabilities but if you don't have the cash the combo I listed is a combo that alot have run with good results. I am actually planning on the same set-up for my car.

ECMLink V3 Lite is significantly cheaper and be upgraded to full V3 if you want to in the future. It should also be able to handle the OP's power goals. Also, if he was going to get an afpr, then he might as well go with the 255 and be done with it since it's the same price as a 190.
