14B install on 2G...

Its going to be my first turbo install really, swappin' out the old T-25 with 90K miles on it before it dies anyways. I have afew questions though.

1)I was told that I don't need an install kit, just the J-pipe for the turbo housing to connect, and that if I'm carefull enough I can bend the stock coolant and oil feed lines to the turbo to make it work? (Thats coming from a guy that runs a 11' in a 2G Eclipse... so I'll take it word for it?)
2)The turbo I got from the guy doesn't have the wastegate with it... can I use my T-25 wastegate... or no? (I guess its called the wastegate... What you run a line from to your manual boost controller...)

Anyways, this was my first time even really taking a turbo apart.. just wondering if I can hope for everything to go smooth with this install...

do a search or hit up VFAQ for 16g/14b installs on a 2g.

you'll definitely need a new jpipe. i also recommend getting a SS oil feed line to replace the stock line. 60 bucks shipped from more vendors. also get new gaskets while your ordering.

reuse:
-stock POS aluminum oil return line [ just be careful not to bend the pipe when filing the holes down ]
-stock water lines, just match and bend, pretty simple.. GO SLOW
-stock gaskets, if you must

i'm almost sure you can't use the t25 wastegate actuator. go find one for cheap at a local junky or get one off of tuners or something.. of course this will be of a tdo5 turbo.

oh, and PB blast 3-4 days in advance.. spray that shit on as many times as you wipe your ass in a week.

can i just use the 1g oil return line??

what do u mean filing can't it just boolt up?

i myself am using the 1g line...

but if you use the 2g line you need to file the holes down because the td05 housing is spaced closer

thank god casuse i want to make this -project as bolt as possible.....
all i need is a ss oil feed line turbo to manifold and o2 hosing gasket and im going to re use the water lines off the t25

dont forget a new DP/o2 gasket and manifold gasket if you're swapping that out too

keeping things very simple

some times you can get away with re-using those gaskets ( there steel )

And you can usually reuse the copper washers on the water lines. Not always, though-- inspect them when you take them off and go get new ones from the dealership if you need to.

dont get oil from the oil filter housing. too much pressure. Or so i hear for mitsu turbo's. I personally would just get it from the stock location.

The oil filter housing IS the stock location, for 2Gs anyway. I have mine that way and like it, and I like the theory behind it-- it's cleaner and probably cooler since it comes straight out of the filter.
