This was on 33psi and on the GM and not SD at the time. The highest trap of the day was 129mph and the car has seen mid 130's with having issues.. So something wasn't quite right. As some of you may know the holset took a crap a few weeks ago at AMS on the dyno. Before it went the car was on SD and at 39psi. It felt great but never made it back to the track with that boost level.

Here's the video of the dyno run.

Nice runs even with the problems you were having. You said you were at 33 psi on GM mas? Also if you don't mind me asking what afr are you running and is this on pump e8f or race gas?

Wow thats nice I will be running the same kind of set up if 10s are possible im amped to get this show on the road. Keep up the good work.

LOL yea... thats what happens when you borrow your buddy's trailer and he tells you its a 2" ball when in fact its a 2 5/16...

On those runs it was on 33psi with the GM maf. A/f was around 11.5 but kinda jumped around a bit.. This was on pump e85. The best time I had at the track with SD was 11.08 @ 132mph and that was around 35psi and sitting around 12:1 for a/f. Wish I could have made it back when it was on 39psi!!!!

What turbo are you going to go with now that the hx40 blew up?

I haven't really decided. There are so many different routes I could go. I want something that is street friendly and docile but at the same time when you get on it hell breaks loose! :)

Dude keeny thats sick! The trailer vid craked me up, Matt thinkin he was going to hold that trailer up hahaha

Yea... I wasn't to happy with that happening... Thats what happens when you borrow a buddy's trailer and he tells you its a 2" ball when in fact its a 2 5/16....

what size injectors and what pump(s) you using?

FIC 1750's and dual walbro 255's. The car went 11.1 at 129mph with a single walbro....

Well at least one of you guys are trying your best with the Holset turbos. I'm still not a believer nor would I ever use one but I'm glad a few of you are getting into the 10s with them. Nice car and Great times.:thumb:

For comparisons sake a couple years ago I did 11.09 @ 129 @ 29 psi on my 35R(.63) on a single walbro as well. It seems that is their limit right around there. Even with the 1000cc injectors I had at the time, my AFR was 13.8:1 LOL because of the fuel pump. It was not the High Pressure model either.

Monkey I am just interested into why you are not a believer? I have been reading a lot on these and I believe I want an hx-35 type. I like to hear all opinions so that I can make an educated decision. I have read raves about them and not too much negative if any at all. Please let me know whats the catch for u?

There will be this kind of skeptism until more guys start posting their #'s. I for one am a believer. This guy and badman have put up some very impressive #s as well as vids.I believe this will be the season of the Holset turbo.:thumb:

Thanks. I appreciate everyones kind words. I was kinda hoping to continue with the hx40 this year but after it took a crap I am going to a totally different setup. Still going with a diesel turbo though. :) I know there was a decent amount left in my set up as it was. The car felt amazing at 39psi but never got back to the track before the turbo went. It was getting cold out as well so the track conditions were decreasing. I know my E.T. would have been the same if not worse but I just wanted to know where my trap speed would have been.

I would like to know what happened to the turbo? I am looking into getting an HX35 and I would like to know how long the turbo lasted?? Thank you

Still not exactly sure what happened. The shaft did bend right near the turbine wheel and then obviously the turbine wheel just ate up the housing along with the wheel. The nut that holds the compressor wheel on also backed off? I think the compressor wheel and housing as still reusable because they don't look too bad. The turbo was on the car for about a year. I haven't really heard of too many problems with the hx35's though. I know a guy who has had one on his vr-4 for many many years also in the bolt-on bep housing.

Yea but the sceptic in this thread never beat Kenny's time though he had a non bolton gt35r :) . . .even after his smim upgrade.

Some people will never look at real world results. They'll only listen to what X shop has to say and done with their vested interest in the brand they promote. Like MJ being sponsored by Nike. . . I'll never get the "ups" he had. And infact I run faster and jump higher in my bare feet. And I'll bet no record he claims would have gone to someone else had he wore a pair of Reboks on the court instead.
