So this year with our Automatic car we changed quite a bit of stuff around to make the car simpler.

After we lost a rod at English Town during the Showdown I decided I wanted to get the intercooler on the car and ditch the Methanol injection.

The car is running on E70 with race gas right now due to being out of Injector and fuel pump. Was running at 29psi going 12.5 AF out the top. Hope to have a 2nd pump and bigger injectors in soon. Not sure if there is much hp left in this turbo, but we will have to find out.

Still the same stock Auto and converter. We did add a shift kit but I dont think it really did any thing over just having the blue wire mod.

Combo as of now.

-ER 2.3 (Eagle Wiseco) 9.0
-HKS 272 (old School :) )
-Stock EVO beehive springs
-light ER head port work
-ETS race FMIC
-ER Cold air intake
-1000cc injectors
-DSM Link V3 Speed Density
-255hp fuel pump
-Ported EVOIII O2 Housing and Exhaust manifold
-3in Down Pipe only
-Stock Intake manifold

Right now this has to be the most perfect DSM Ever. So easy to drive and does the same thing every time. I had 4 10.6's and my one 10.5 in it on Sunday. With the 2.3 I just hold it half throttle at about 10-15psi and just go WOT on the last light and it just rips. Cant wait to let my wife race it.

Jeff ran a few 9.3's on 37psi and is still ready to race. We are still playing with the some trans stuff.

Dang!! that thing moves. I'm wondering more info about that blue wire mod....

For this turbo I guess. (For now Curt has one to)

Curt Brown went 10.0 on a real EVOIII 16g.

2670lbs

2850lbs with me in it.

YouTube is not working right for uploading right now. So I hope to get video up tomorrow.

My god Lucas! That thing just goes! I LOVE IT!

You really make it difficult to warrant building a big turbo car. :p Suddenly my 3065 5-speed isn't looking so good! HA!

Thats just beautiful to be able to put a 1g down the 1320 like that with ease, while doing it consistently, and which just a simple e316g.
It definitely makes having an Auto even more appealing, especially w/ the stroker. What psi was this done at, willing to give out any specifics on the tune? Is the intake manifold extrude honed? I know that CB says 16g cars trap better with smim, and I noticed a very nice gain up top with my hawver intake, but I dont know if the down low lose will hurt the auto car too much? Also sorry for all the questions but what was your impressions of how the car felt after you put the intercooler back on? And if you were trying to reach some records I think you should try out that 11.1 CR on this car ;)

This car is built in DSM style on the Cheep.

The 2.3 parts I have had in the shop for years so we just used them.

Stock intake as of now. Hate to do anything that may hurt spool since its on stock Converter.

The car went form a sloppy V2 link with a MAFT Pro to just V3 and Speed Densty. So its way smoother and more constant now. Way to may changes to give a Meth VS Intercooler answer.

Car was about 28-29psi all the way down, 12.5-12.8AF E70 100%DC on the 1000s. 10-18deg timing.

I am hopping once I get a 2nd pump on and injectors that I can run a few more PSI, Get it back on straight Ethanol, and get the AF back in the high 11s ware I like it.

Not THAT is a good running combo. What I'm most floored by is the stock converter and 1.5 60' times without nitrous. I thought I saw snow tires or something strange on the car at Etown...are you still on those? If so, that's the most amazing part of the whole car for me!

Did you tune on the dyno? In regards to actually dialing the timing aggressively for mbt or is it just a whatever tune? Because thats a really damn good trap speed for a 16g.I see you have 9.0 CR, id like to assume with the ethanol more timing adv could still be used to optimize power a little bit. I wish I had money to do higher CR pistons rather than these weak 1g pistons, it made a world difference on my friends talon. With ethanol Im running a low 12 afr. I thought about running richer but seems to run better around 12.3 afr at wot, but I know every cars different.

Tuned on the dyno for MBT vs knock, around 19* or so. We havent found anymore power on a dyno from 12.-12.5 and from 11.0-12.0 it was 6whp on a 550whp car.

very nice constant runs you are doing. Car looks great also and I love it more that its a auto. I bought a 91 auto just for the reason of racing.
Get in the car, start motor, stage, foot on brake and other on gas. Wait for 3rd yellow, left foot off of brake and mat the gas pedal and enjoy the ride. Rinse and repeat

That's awesome! This makes me feel retarded about going with a bigger turbo, I'd love to stay at the 16g level and trap in the 10's. How long does it take to get to mid-teens psi when you're launching on the stock converter?

Nice work Lucus!! That thing really moves out real smooth from out of the gate all the way down. 16g turbos are so underestimated man they really wake up past 20 psi on a well tuned car on E85.

On the stock 2.0 I would be 1/2 throttle at about 8-10psi as I creep into the lights. Once I see the 1st yellow I would go wot and it would be just about right with a 20-24psi launch.

On the 2.3 I can just stage hold it about 5psi 1/4 throttle and go wot on the 2nd yellow and go.

If I stand on the breaks very hard I can get it to stall 30psi at almost 4k on the stock conveter. The snow tires cant hold this kind of a launch though. I with get my drag tires on the car next time out which will be 2 mons till our local tracks open.
