As most of you know, my 1.8l 93 eclipse needed a headgasket..

So i did a headgasket replacement yesterday and today, and i put everything back together//except the motor mount on the right side just incase i need to fix something on timing side..

Well anyway; i put it all back together, and when i turn key all you hear is fuel pump.. The car doesn't even attempt to turn over, and since it won't even try to turn over, it won't fire haha..

What could it be?

i got a 1.8 for sale full motor tranny and ecu got a 2yr old rebuilt head.holla at me if your interested!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

um i wasnt asking for your motor tranny or ecu? i just rebuilt mine. get out of here with your junk classifieds on my tech post.

Anyways.. i don't hear any clicking or anything.. how can i get the car to start without starter?

^^I smell a ban hammer coming.

Anyways.......

If your car is stick, then you could push it and pop the clutch to turn the car over and possibly start the car. Definitely go through all the connections first though. Seems like you probably just forgot to plug something back in or a fuse blew or something.

Is there any diagrams of all the grounds to the engine bay anywhere?

i checked over everything.. no loose wiring..

I bought a new starter and even thats not kicking on.. i turn the key and nothing..

So i noticed, when i turn the key the whole way on...if i try turning my turn signals on, they wont go on.. headlights work and high beams but the dash lights like check engine don't come on.. only one that lights up is my door light

Not the most helpful reply I know but just for the hell of it check your fuses, like the ignition fuse for example.

battery wire down to the starter connected along with the smaller ignition wire attached to the selinoid? Check the three fuses in the holder on the positive post connector

... are the two battery connections, clean and tight along with the wires going to the connectors with no corrosion and copper bright wires- esp the negative wire since that is where current begins to flow - from negative to positive.

Also, check the 100a main fuse in the relay box next to the right strut tower -the one that has to be bolted in for I had one open up causing the same "no-start" situation.

Update; Okay; i got her to crank..

The Ignition Fuse was blown..

Now the problem i have is getting her to FIRE..

I'm getting gas, it smells real bad in garage, and i get spark; i took the plug out with wire and did the arc thing on metal.. and it still won't fire.. I rechecked my timing and it was off so i retimed it and i'm almost positive i got the timing right..

Are these markings right?

Crank Mark

Crank mark is WAY off.

Look for the "V" groove in that outer flange to match up with the oil pump cover arrow mark to get your TDC - oil pump sprocket mark is dead on (maybe) ..... (and have the front balance sprocket aligned up to it's respective mark.

...point the cutout in the oil pump sprocket at TDC and let go. Does the sprocket roll to the left? If it does, it's in phase with the crank. If it rolls to the right, spin the sprocket one turn and then it should roll to the left to be in phase with the crank when you let it go. Then when in phase, put the belt on with all the marks aligned up and tighten down the tensioner roller with having a quarter-inch deflection with the long side of the belt.

Use paint or something and circle which part of the crank pulley the groove should be in ... or take a picture or find one of the actual marking itself for me please..

I need a visual i been trying to find it.

Anyone....?

..the outer flange that I'm talking about is what the crank sprocket rests against.

There should be a "V" notch cut in that flange that needs to match up with that mark on the oil pump cover - which is that cover that has the three marks that you see ....
